Living
in Japan is the best way to study Japanese language and culture.
Therefore, it is effective to do a long-term stay.
Unfortunately, this becomes very expensive.
However, this course is obtainable by way of a minimum individual
payment. The staying and food expenses are free of charge. Stay at Ibigawa-town’s "Learning Arbor" training institution located in Gifu Prefecture’s Ibi County in central Japan; perform administrative tasks (institution management, cleaning, night duty, etc.) and dining room duties (dishwashing, waiting on customers, etc.). These experiences will lead to interaction with many Japanese people, give exposure to Japanese culture, and assists in learning true Japanese language. This will nurture the qualities needed to exist as a member of society in the ever-increasing global community. |

Stay at Ibigawa-town’s "Learning Arbor" training
institution located in Gifu Prefecture’s Ibi County in central Japan, go
on nature walks, enjoy sports and trips to hot spring, and formulate a
customized stay plan. Some good points to taking courses at this institute are being able to attend lectures on traditional Japanese culture as well as having interaction between visiting hotel guests and local inhabitants. Furthermore, one can easily visit historical landmarks, located on the outskirts of the lodging facilities, starting with historic Gifu castle and the Sekigahara Battlegrounds – from the age of civil strife in Japan. “Learning
Arbor Yokokura” is a unique training institution located in
Ibigawa-town’s
mountain village of Gifu Prefecture’s Ibi County in central Japan.
Formally an elementary school, closed down due to a population
decline in Ibi County’s mountain village, it was repaired 3 years ago and is
now used as a place for training and lodging for society members as well
as a sports training camp for local people.
By going to the NPO Corporate “Gifu Ibi Life School”
activity center you can experience a variety of activities and attend
lectures given by local inhabitants to learn about nature, life, playing
and conversing. |

| "Thatched house" lodging experience course |
For this
course, stay at the private residence of a traditional Japanese
“Thatched House”.
Experience the production of traditional handicrafts and go on
cookouts were you prepare your own meals using seasonal ingredients.
Also, hear stories told by the elderly who have lived in the area
for many years.
Gain firsthand knowledge of the wisdom of Japanese people who
coexist with nature, and get a true understanding of their “homeland”.
The sightseeing tours of this course will crate valuable memories
to last a lifetime.
In addition to the “Thatched House” lodging, you can also
experience home stays at the houses of local area residents. |

| Traditional Thatched house | This Thatched house" is a house built about 150 years ago. NPO that is the cooperation group of UJEEC has managed it as a training facilities. The living room, the kitchen, the bath, and the lavatory, etc. in the house are the one of the decreasing form also in Japan now. Old life of the Japanese can be experienced. However, it is equipped fully with electricity, the gas, and water service. Moreover, the lavatory is western- style. When the current one and the old one harmonize well, it is a viewpoint. |
